Adventure Oasis

So I am not sure there are words for this, so I will let the picture do most of the talking. We took Yedidiya to a little waterpark in Independence, MO called Adventure Oasis. It had a kids area called Buckaroo Beach, and I think that it is the most fun I have ever seen Yedidiya have. Even when his little chin would start to shiver towards the end, he would get mad at us if we took him away from the water even to warm him up. It's safe to say that he, as did Laura and I, had a blast!

He loved getting sprayed and splashed. Even when some of the older kids would spray the water hoses at us and hit him the face, or when we got dumped on by the HUGE bucket unexpededly, he would smile and giggle and just loved it!

He loved the slides. The bigger the slide, the bigger the smile. Unfortunately the two bigger slides were both tube slides, so we couldn't get any good pictures with him on those!

The lazy river didn't suffice. As Mommy put it, he wasn't happy being on the water, he wanted to be in it!

An 'IMPORTANT' First!

Daddy is so proud! Yedidiya got to make his first trip to Bass Pro! I am not certain who liked it more, Yiah or Daddy, but both had fun.

Yedidiya really enjoyed looking at all the animals. He even got to touch a deer! His favorite was sitting by the indoor pond watching the waterfall, the ducks, and the fish. You can't tell, but in the background of this picture is elk we got to see when we first came in.
And of course, as a souvineer, Daddy bought Yiah his very own camo Bass Pro hat! Now the only thing is getting him to keep it on his head and out of his mouth. I think the deer might notice him doing that repeatedly!

Sliding Up?

As I mentioned, we had beautiful weather and got to spend much time outside. Yedidiya got to play with his cousins on their swingset and show off his mad sliding skills.

Sliding is easy you say? Of course it is, but of course Yiah had to add his personal twist to the fun of it all. He has always gone down slides with help, enjoying it very much. But up?

We also headed to a local park where Yiah got to enjoy his first cookout. Granted, he didn't each much of the food, he simply enjoyed be outside, watching people and walking in the grass.

I wonder what would happen if we combined Yiah's enjoyment of being outdoors with his love for baths and slides?? Hmmm.... stay tuned!

Missouri Heat

Yedidiya has always LOVED baths. We have now found something he loves even more! The beautiful weather in Mizzou gave us the need to cool off and Yiah got his first experience with a kiddy pool!

He absolutely loved it! He didn't mind the cold water one bit. He would splash, kick, walk around and even sit down in the pool. Lets just say this would lead to further adventures. You will have to stay tuned to see exactly what I am talking about!

I went to Kansas City on a Friday...

...by Saturday I learned a thing or two.
But up til then I didn't have an idea
of what the (parenting) world was comin to.

Please excuse the 'Oklahoma' reference, but we did take our first family trip to Kansas City this past weekend. We had a great time visiting Laura's sister and did a lot of fun things with Yiah which I will try to post throughout the week. Overall it was a fun time spent with Aunts, Uncles, and playing with cousins.
But getting there and back, in a car seat for 6 hours... Let's just say 'We went about as fer as we could go...'

Our ( HIS ) Dog

So we have noticed a little less attention from our beloved dog, Pee Wee, lately. We'll be outside working in the garden, he'll normally be right there in the dirt with us. We'll be watching TV and he is laying across our lap. We are on the computer and he is under the desk at our feet. However, lately all of those spots have been vacant. Hmmm...

It seems Pee Wee's new choice location is in the closest proximity to Yedidiya that he can possibly be. Now, he sits under Yiah's stroller outside and "protects" him. When we come home from some where Pee Wee runs out not to see us, but to see Yiah. Just the other night, I was working downstairs after Yedidiya had gone to bed. I began looking, but could not find Pee Wee for the life of me. Sure enough, I come upstairs and this is what I see, right outside of Yedidiya's door.

Such a sweet dog, still is, it is just hard to be replaced. But, really, can you blame him???

Walk This Way

This is the best I could get on video, so it will have to do for now! As soon as he sees that I have the camera, he gets very excited and tries to run to me and grab it. Not real conducive to learning how to walk or to getting a good video...
