Didn't

We didn't pass. Everyone scheduled for today did not pass. We were told in order for the court to process a case, they need recommendations from the Ministry of Children's Affairs which was closed today in observance of Children's day. Our next court date isn't until Dec. 18th.

Court Day!

It's officially Friday in Ethiopia, and our court date is today (really tonight while we TRY to sleep). Prayers are appreciated! The birth mother has still not been located but the police have submitted a report. Pray for God's plan and will, and if it is possible for us to pass as part of that plan that we do!! Also strength, courage, and trust (Psalm 20) for Laura and I as we come to the next step, be it waiting for another court date or (hopefully) planning for travel. Whatever the case, may God be glorified in tonight's court happenings.
We will post as soon as we know more.

A Week of Good News??!!

We finally heard today that our paperwork needed at the Embassy for our little guy to get his Visa, is actually there!! Praise the Lord! We were told a few weeks ago that they didn't have it, despite everyone on our end telling us they did. Since this is originally the paperwork that took us 4+ months to get taken care of, we were worried. But God moves mountains!!! Let's pray for more good news from our court date on Friday (Thursday night).

HUGE Blessing!

Respond Ministries held their trivia night benefit for us on Saturday. About 90 friends, family, and community members came out to support us. To our amazement, they raised $4,100 to help us bring Baby Y home!!! We are touched beyond anything I can put into words. My tears may say it best. You all blessed us soooo much. I am humbled and astounded by the love shown by the Cornerstone and Eldridge community. Our heart-felt appreciation is deeper than you will ever know. So thank you, thank you, thank you from Laura, Baby Y and myself. We will never forget what you have all done for us; we love you all!

October Update

We got more adorable pictures of Baby Y today! The report says he is very healthy, happy, and easy going. And my favorite, he is very playful. His growth and development seems to be going very well. His weight is up to 15 pounds. Also, he makes eye contact, tries to roll over, and even stands when the caregivers hold his hands!
