Major Strides

Well, it has been some time and our little Yedidiya is growing into a big boy. He now weighs in at 24 pounds, but he has thinned out some as he grows. He does so many cute little things that we have taught him, like 'so big', which he has done almost since we got him. He can now give you five, blow kisses, wave bye-bye, give loves (hug), and even whistle a little bit. He has also become quite the little chatter box. While 'da-da' did come first, it has now been replaced with 'ma-ma' and used by the hundreds.
Our biggest news is on the walking front. He has been trying to take steps for a while now, and when he goes between things or hangs on to something he has been great. But get him away from support, and boom! His balance is lacking a little bit, but his biggest problem is that he tries to go way too fast. Well, he showed today that he is well on his way to overcoming that. On two or three separtate occassions today, Yiah took 5 to 7 steps without any support!!! And even after one of those times, he stopped a just stood there for 5 seconds afterwards! It was joyous and scary. How are we going to keep up with him now?
Anyway, things here are still going great. He has been with us over 4 months now and he is the happiest little guy I have ever met. We are just loving being parents. I am getting ready to spend the summer with him now that school is out, so I will try to do better on the updates. For now, I thought I would just throw out some newer pictures!

Bearcats and Badgers

Over the weekend we had a visit from some old Southwest Baptist University Bearcats. Laura's college friends came up to meet Yedidiya and visit us along with their families. They traveled all the way from the Kansas City and Springfield, Missouri areas to be with us, so we truly appreciated it! What a blessing and wonderful time! Yedidiya got to meet "Aunt and Uncle" Lindsay and Bryan, "Aunt and Uncle" Keri and I'van, and "Aunt" Leslie, as well as spend time with two of his little "cousins".

We spent a fun filled weekend mostly outside playing yard games and just hanging out. Yiah even got to experience his first bonfire in the country! All in all, it was the perfect weekend! And for those of you who know Laura and her friends, suprisingly Yiah came through the weekend wonderfully happy and normal. I am just not sure I can say the same thing about the ladies!

A HUGE thank you to our friends for coming up to Iowa! It meant the world to us, and to Yedidiya!

Rock Star

So we knew that Yedidiya liked music when he would dance along to certain tunes. But now he has begun a whole new stage in his performance career. Make a joyful noise unto the Lord...

So, he is not really doing much, but in our (extremely biased) opinion we thought it was pretty darn cute!

Yiah's New Ride

A new growing family has new growing requirements, and as Laura put it, we are "now a 4-door family!" With the increasing need for space when we travel coupled with the potential for future additions, we decided to take the plunge and get a new (used) car for the family! Yiah thinks it is pretty sweet, and is all ready making a play for it to be his when he grows up. All we know, is it had better last that long!

" Hey Dad! Give me the keys and lets see what this thing can do!"
Dad's only concern is that this bad boy seats 7. What exactly does Mommy have in mind when she says the potential of future additions to the family???

P90-Y

Who needs P90-X when you have P90-Y?!?!

Anyone who knows Laura knows she loves to workout. So Yedidiya decided to work out with Mommy for a day. Neeless to say, I am not sure how much of a workout he got, but he sure was a great personal trainer!

Happy Easter

The Lord has blessed us with so much, as evidenced by this blog. This weekend we take time to remember the greatest gift He ever gave. The gift of His Son who paid the price for our sins, took our punishment, and died for us, then rose again counquering sin and death so that those who believe in Him can have everlasting life. What a blessed gift.

So from our family to yours, have a wonderful Easter, and may all glory and praise be given to our Father in heaven.

Giddy-Up

Yedidiya's new favorite way of getting around the house! Man, being a dad is so much fun! And exhauasting... but fun!
