New Court Date

We recieved a new court date for Nov. 20th. Our agency is still unable to contact the birthmother so we will be relying on an investigation report submitted by the police.

No News

Nothing new on a new court date or when to expect one. The agency has been unable to get in touch with the birth mother and the courts misplaced our file.

Big Day!!!

Well, it's officially October 22 in Ethiopia. That means our court proceedings will occur tonight while I am not sleeping. We will let everyone know as soon as we hear something. Please pray that we pass so we can go get him!

WE GOT A DATE!!!!!!!!!

God is SO good!!

After a one day delay, the courts opened on the 13th and we got a court date! October 22nd is our big day. Currently, only 50% of families are passing on their first court date. That is why I am glad I have a HUGE God!! So keep those prayers coming that we pass our first court date and we will have tentative travel dates soon!!!

September Update!

We recieved our update today with some more cute pictures! The poor little guy looks like he has a mohawk as they had to shave one side of his head for the IV. The good news is he is now doing very good! He seems to be growing like a weed as in the past month he has moved into mostly the 50th - 75th percentiles for height and head circumference, where he was lower before, and even while being sick, he gained 2 pounds! And we also hear he loves to smile at the nannies during play time, can lift up his head and chest when on his tummie, and loves to grasp with his tiny little hands! I can't wait to have him!!!!!

Health Update

He is off of the antibiotics and is doing much better!!! Thank you all so much for your prayers! We should have more information in our Referral Update soon!

Court Closures Extended

The Ethiopian courts were supposed to re-open on Oct. 6th, but that date has been pushed back to Oct. 12th. Even at that time, they do not forsee any new court dates being given for at least another 1-2 weeks. For us, that means a court date potentially in late October/early November. Much later than originally hoped.

He's doing better

Just heard from the nurse at the transition home that he "is getting much better. He does not have a fever and his accelerated breathing has been decreasing. He is also eating well." Praise the Lord!
